Hey, my Fungia is acting really weird ... its a new arival to my tank, and I have had it for a few weeks...
Suddenly I find it swelling for a few days and today its necrosing...
Is this plate reproducing or just really unhealthy!?

never had mine swell up... but after it's time is up and it dies, just leave the skeleton where it is... i did that with mine, and about 2-3 months later it was covered with babies! now just waiting for them to get big enough to frag off.

All of mine swell up every few days, but necrosis isn't good. How does it look now?

Still necrosing lil by lil...

Flesh is just gently tearing off of it...

if it does continue to necros, try breaking the piece in half.
Try to break it so that the healthy half still has part of its mouth. either put the unhealthy half in a frag tank, or some where safe in the tank.
Or toss it if its to far gone.

Place the healthy half a little closer to your light in a safe place, and let it heal.

Some fungia take damage well, and others don't.
Fungia Repanda is one that takes damage fairly well.

oops sorry for the double post.
Of course Repanda is not the only fungia that takes damage well, I beleive cyclosis takes a beating as well.
