Well I'm starting to get impatient since I know my tank is about to finish cycling, there was actualy a realy good sale at my pet store this last weekend and I couldn't take advantage of it. Any way, I was going to get some blue legged hermit crabs, and right now they have some brown saddle clowns that I want, would it be safe to add 2 of the clowns and 4 or 5 of the hermit crabs when the tank is done cycling or should I just get the crabs and hold off on the fish?
*I was going to get a 2 spot goby eventualy, and I was wondering if 2 would be too much because of the food situation. it's a 28 gal tank btw

how many weeks has it been cycling--its not a matter of the tank going through a single cycle more then giving the tank time to allow multiple cycling of the bacteria rate so they can handle the increased biomass of a fish

If you dont have a proper test kit then i would get that before anything else.
If tank is cycled (with low water readings ,proper equipment, minimum amount of LR and LS) i would add 3 or 4 hermits and wait a wekk or two then add a fish or coral but no gobys then wait and add more CUC and a coral and fish and then ect..

the tank has been up for I'm pretty sure 6 weeks, I have test strips that that have nitrite, nitrate, ph, and water hardness. I took it to my fish store and had them test it and got the same results as me and said it would probably be a week for it to finish. I was planning on just get hermits at first then 2 clowns a week or 2 later (depending on what is going on in my tank and availability) and then a few weeks probably for gobies, then a 6 line wrasse. and som where in the middle probably get a shrimp or 2. I have a plan that I think should work, and haven't had the guys at the pet store tell me it was bad, and I haven't asked any major questions there that I didn't already know the answer to, so I feel pretty safe with their opinions.
I always make things longer than they should be, I wanted to get the clowns when it's done because last time it took 3 weeks to get them in again.

28 gallon do you have a fuge/sump? twin spotts are tough to keep. if you dont have sump or fuge id stick to tougher fish. take my advice describe your setup and get feedback. before making any moves. alot of the advice will be advice that will end of saving you alot of headache.

cuc? and no qt, my uncle got fish from the store for probably 2 years, getting probably 2 new fish a month (he always worked out something he would just give fish a way just to get new ones) and he never actualy had a fish die or get sick in his tank. I know it would be smart to get a qt, but I don't have the money or room for it right now.

I have a "back pack" (it has a protein skimmer in it), a UV sterlizer, 25lbs live rock, 20 lbs of live sand.
I would wait a week or two between each new addition . Clean up crew now (if your cycle is almost through). Maybe the clowns in a couple of weeks. The reason for the slow addition is because everytime you introduce new livestock, your bacteria need to multiply to handle the additional load on the system.
