I really like these wrasses, don't know much about them, and was wondering if anyone knew if they were reef safe or not...

It is labeled as a Rare West African Newtoni wrasse.

I don't think that one is reef safe... I do have a Red Coris Wrasse, who people say are not safe with Shrimp and Crabs/Snails.... Well... Mine hasn't touched my 2 large cleaner shrimp, and I still see snails and Hermits in my tank.... He does go after empty shells on the bottom and turns them over, and plays with them... Very kool to watch!!

Idk but very nice indeed ask fo a scienctic name if you get that you shoudl be able to find it. But, its chances of being "totally reef safe" is looking improbable b/c it looks rather similar to those in the Thalassoma genus

It's a Thalassoma newtoni, and it is NOT reef safe.
