I am setting up my first reef tank. I have almost everything together at this point, but the refugium. I wasnt sure how I was going to plumb it up until I saw The_Browns thread (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1284220). I already have a 10 gallon ready to go. I just need to put a 1" bulkhead in it. Just wondering if anybody knows a good place to buy the drill bit, or a place in NJ or eastern PA that will install one. Also, if I do it myself, what size hole needs to be drilled for a 1" bulkhead? Thanks.

Just take a look in the phone book every glass shop around me will drill a tank. That is as long as the glass that they are drilling is not tempered and they only charge me 10 $ a hole.

redaustin88- Thanks. I didn't think of that. Now, how big should the hole be for 1" PVC?

For a 1'' bulk head you will need a 1 3/4 drill hole.

I would get a glass hole saw from www.richontools.com

They are dirt cheap, they don't rape you on shipping, and the saws work great.

I would first get the bulkhead fittings and then go for the appropriate hole saw. If the place you buy the bulkhead fitting KNOWS for a FACT what size hole saw you need then you can order the appropraiate size hole saw.

I was extremely pleased with the hole saw I purchased from www.richontools.com
