Today, I've saw a little clam's symbiotic shrimp in one of my Squamosa. Little, maybe 1/2", transparent with black little spot. I've read about this kind of shrimp in Giant clam in the sea and the aquarium book, but unfortunately, I don't have it at home this evening. Is anyone can tell me the name of this cute little shrimp please?

Thanks mbbuna and skinz for your quick anwser!:-) I was really exited about my discovery... I've read about those shrimps many times, but never saw one before today...really cute creature and very interesting behavior! Is anyone here who have already saw one? And is this shrimp host a particular kind of tridacna or we can found it in any kind of clams?

I have gotten them with almost every squamosa I have purchased but they didn't make it through shipping.

ive never gotten one with any of my clams. there isn't much known about them but it does seem that certain species of clams have different species of shrimp. the two i listed are known to live in squamosa's

The squamosa's I have been getting have been coming from viet nam. But the vendor told me that they cut him off due to no permits being released.
