I've had this Atlantic Carpet Anemone for 6 months and has been doing fine. That was until today! My Nemo algae clip fell off the glass today landed behind a rock by the anemone. I could not get to it with my 24" tongs so I was going to wait until I finished work to get my arms wet. My Maroon Clown (female) decided to get it for me. The only problem was she gave it to the anemone which has swollowed it. The only part sticking out is the suction cup.

Will it eventually spit it out or the anemone toast?

I have had my tube anemone eat strings of Chaeto that blow around the tank after I stir it up doing a water change...it seems like the next day it will just spit out the chaeto strands and it appears to be fine.

I hope everything works out well for you!

One of my rics detached and I searched everywhere in the tank. When I looked at my nem, it had a really dark circle in its mouth. He at the ric. lol. So, I opened the mouth and got the ric out of there because the rics are more expensive than a condy anenome.

I beleive the ric is a gonner as the process of an anemone swallowing anything involves stinging it

I have not had much luck with BTAs. My first one got dosed with Joe's juice because I let my son do the injecting and he injected too much and it drifted over to the BTA. My second one got too close to the closed loop and got sucked in. The guy at the LFS said that Atlantic Carpet Anemones usually stay in one place. This is true as it has not moved since I put it in. My mated pair maroon clowns have hosted in it which from what I understand is a minor miracle as they are from two different region of the ocean.

That's classic. I wouldn't worry about it. It'll cough it back up once it realizes it's not digestible. Prying it out is likely to injure the nem.

He spit it out last night. Today he looks back to normal.

Incredible. You should post your pics over in the clownfish anenome forumn so they see this as well.

OMG, those pictures are priceless! Silly nem, that's not food! I wonder if he'll ever trust a meal offering from his clown again -- that can't have been an easy meal to swallow :D
Seriously though, I'm so glad he's alright :)
