Salifert vs elos

I have been using salifert for a year or so but recently read that they are not that accurate....that elos was better. Since I was low with my salifert ak....i replaced it with elos ak. the elos tested my ak to be 7kdh and the salifert at 9kdh. that is a pretty big differance and Im a little confused if I should dose to bring it up. is elos more accurate than salifert?

I just bought an API and Elos to compare my Salifert results. I was getting paranoid by reading everyone's comments on here. All three tests were identical, so I guess I was lucky.

I was thinking about buying api...I do hear it is a pretty good product and is cheaper than elos.

My Salifert alk read slightly higher than my API and Elos. Before you make any changes, an API test may be in order. They are cheap and accurate and worth the peace of mind. :)

ok...I ordered the mg kit along with the ak kit...the elos comes out to 1900ppm and the salifert comes out to 1320ppm. huge differance. Could that be right?

i think the new mg test kits for elos says instead of x100 it should be x75 =)

anyway thats the number you get if you were to do the math

Yes garyw68 the card on the inside should have a sticker on it that says 75ppm instead of the last batch that was 100ppm. It was a mistake on our part as our lab sent the new formulation with the 75ppm batch and our warehouse did not put in the new cards so we had to add a label to these cards. Sorry for the scare but moo0o is correct you are at 1425ppm.

I should add this is only for batch with an expiration date of 12/2009, which is the newest batch and this is what Marine Depot would have if you purchased this within the last week or two.
