Got this from a friend clearing out his tank. I am happy he gave me the chance to take him.
I also got hos hooded which is still hiding, and sneaking food when it floats by.
So far this guy and my lineatus is the most personal wrasse. These guys beg for food. I am hoping the other wrasses start soon. Seems like my curse is over on wrasses. (Knock on wood!!!)
What do you guys think on the shape of his tail?? Its like the shape of a hawaiin flame or a ruby fin.(pointed end)

That is how they got their name. Yours may be a subadult male.

Well a story i heard about this fish is when he forst got it, It was a female in the pair, and eventually killed the male when it grew a little and started to change over. Is this common in wrasse pairs or do ya think it was mis ID'ed when he bought them and this one was a male just small.

If he had two and the female was able to dominate a subadult male it would potentially kill it. It would then be a candidate to change to a male. The one you have is quite a ways from being "male" but it looks as if it is on the way.

Yep it was, This is the killer. ;)
This fish has some big balz ofr a fairy, Much like a lineatus.
I do see some blue coming in the rear, But its faint, and the flash washes it out.
This fish is 3.5 inches in length. Most fish stores would call this a 4.5 incher. LOL
