I'm finalizing plans for my new setup, which will include a 48gallon ADA Tank (36x18x18). They're rimless, so I want a hanging light. I think for the light fixture I'll get the 24 inch Giesemann Infiniti (1x250W HQI + 4x24W T5).

I've never had a hanging light before, so I'm wondering what you do with the power cord. Do you snake it up the hanging cable, or just let it drop straight down to behind the tank?

Also, I'm looking for opinions on this light. I want high light for SPS, but have chosen a 24" light for a 36" tank. This will be a peninsula-style tank, and I plan to have the end with overflow/powerheads relatively dark/unlit.

Thanks~

I have the Infinity 72" and I just zip tied the cords together and hung them off the end and down the back corner of the tank. You are the only person that will notice it.

If you have electrical skills, you can install a plug in the ceiling, and tie wrap the cord to the hanging cable. It just depends how clean you want to go.
