I woke up this morning to find my 4" naso tang with a full stomach, maybe constipation, I've had this problem with discus fish before and to help them I used a toothpick and pierced there hole were they pooped and everything came out all at once but those were discus and were very slow and easy to catch but now this is a tang in a full stocked reef and don't think i'll catch him.Has anybody have this problem before.

Um, yikes. I think there should be a "do not try this at home" disclaimer ;p

I hope the guy just wasn't full and hadn't gone yet because that'd be horribly unncesssary. I wouldn't think having a good diet with lots of veggies would somehow clog up a fish :(

Wow so I'm not the only one who has had this problem. I had a 6inch naso that had the same thing happen. Unfortunatly no one seems to know how to cure it.

Your fish will try to eat but it will probably end up spitting the food back out because of the back up. When it happened to me people told me it was because i was giving it too much nori. I highly doubt it's true.

Unless your method of poking the fish in butt works he is all but dead. Over the next month or so you will slowly see you naso starve to death.

I bought a six-line wrasse and the same thing happened. I had tons of pods in my tank so there was plenty for him to eat.

He was new in the fish store when I picked him up. After gorging his stomach size kept increasing and never relieved.

I believe he had some kind of parasite in him or he just ate too much too fast.
