I was curious of those who use a jar to place food in jars for slow eating fish such as mandarins, how long it took for the fish to get use to the jar and go in to feed?

I bought my mandarin about a month ago and feel I got very lucky as I saw it eating frozen mysis and pellets a couple days after it was introduced. I tried puting both foods in a jar for the bugger to feed for the past 2 days, but its very hesitant to go in, even the anthias and red shrimp don't venture into it yet. Granted, it is somewhat fun to watch nassarius go in and vacuum the pellets up, but it would be more fun to watch the mandarin.

Thanks!

Good luck, they are sooo hard to feed! My Mandarin is so shy, I have only seen him go in his diner once or twice in 6 months.

i just let mine compete for frozen food with all the other fish, he seems to get a good share but i've got tons of pods so he might not even need the frozen.
