Can trace elements be added to the Ca part? I heard some people do with magnesium. What about other things like iron, iodide, strontium,... ?

Trace elements are provided by the salt mix as long as regular water changes are performed.

Generally, dosing of these is not needed.

This article talks about what is important to dose and what is not.

While I am not a fan of adding either strontium or iodide, you could add either of these to the calcium part of a two part. I'd leave iron out of it as it might cause problems for the iron.

Depending on the magnesium additive, you might be able to add it, but my DIY recipe specifically saves it as a third part because the magnesium sulfate is not compatible with either part.
