Tomorrow I have a shipment coming from Live Aquaria of 1 Juv. Imperator Angel, and 5 female Lyretail Anthias. How would you recommend quaranting these fish? I have a 30 gallon set up for quarantine, but I was not sure about hyposalinity, or any preventative medications that I should be using.
Thank you,

i beleave if you want to do hypo to kill off any parasites etc you start with the salinity at normal (1.024ish) and slowly drop it .01 per day until it reaches 1.019 (the parasites and nasty little critters cant survive in such low salinity) ...but dont take my word for it, i have never done it before (no qt) this is only a method i have heard of and am not sure if it is correct.

i would be interested in seeing what others have done or been told to do.

Hypo only takes care of a small amount of problems. 1.019 is not low enough.

If the fish show no sign of disease, then I usually wait for a week or so until the fish are eating really well to treat them.

Browse around the fish disease forum for more info on a variety of treatment. On the good side, you have some hearty fish from a good supplier so you are already headed in the right direction.
