I used this unit for my reef tank in college, but it has not been used in about 1-2 years. Should I change out all the filters since it hasn't been in use even though it's only reading 0 to 1 ppm?

Also, how can you manually backflush the RO membrane? Is it as easy as running water backwards through the RO section of the unit? Please explain if I'm incorrect.

Hello,

If you're making water and the TDS is still that low, I wouldn't worry about it. You should flush off the membrane though. To do this, remove the flow restrictor (the white 4" long piece that has the number 800 on it) from the drain line. That will flush off the membrane. Do that for at least 10 gallons.
