Ever since the end of summer, I have been battling red slime. I added a sump and fuge with chaeto and it still grows. I tested pH today along with my calcium and alk and my pH was very low at like 7.5(cannot remember the last time I tested for it) and calcium was 380 and alk was 10 something. So my calcium and pH is low, and read that red slime grows more rapidly in low pH. I added a buffer but doubt it will raise it and sustain it at 8+. So its is winter and cannot open windows to try and get aerate the house which raises pH. Should I start dripping kalk or any suggestions. Just seems that I have one problem caused by another and another and no way to fix.
