I recently installed a 7095 controller. With the pumps in the "interval 1" mode, whenever one of my 6100s switches from being off to on, there is a loud click that comes from the unit. The other 6100 us silent. I suspect it has something to do with the impeller, but am not sure how to proceed. Please advise. Thanks.

Hi Dave,

I have had this problem with a 6100 before and found the drive unit impeller parts needed servicing you dont notice until the pump is switching off and on more frequently. I would suggest upgrade to the new impeller version part #6100.700

Thanks, Graeme. I noticed that the present drive assembly has the brake shoes in it that "expands" if the unit is twisted in a certain way. Roger, do you also think this is the problem?

That is the older drive unit, we switched to the newer one piece unit about 2 years ago. The brakes can drag and click with the old one. A red oring, part 7400.61 was used to keep the brakes from dragging, it locks them in. Overtime this oring compresses and needs to be replaced. The best solution is the newer 6100.70, but a new 7400.61 oring would likely also fix it.

Where's the oring go and what size is it? I have access to unlimited orings as a short-term fix. If I order off of tunze.com, will you be able to process my order domestically for the 6100.70 or will it come out of Germany? Thanks.

It will come from us in Austin. Just be sure you are on the US homepage when you order. The oring goes in a grove under the shaft, it is very tiny, I don't have dimensions but it is probably .2mm in diameter and 5mm across, it is a fairly odd oring made of red silicon rubber.
