What kinds of non reef-safe fish do you have in your reef tank?

I've had a banded cat shark in my 210g for over 18 months now. Sadly, he has grown too big for the tank now. The good news is that I just ordered a 500L from Tenecor Thursday so he'll have to plenty of room when I upgrade my tank!!!

How about a baby clown trigger? I got him as one of those quarter size tinies you see once a year. Tossed him in the 105 and he grew like a weed. He didn't eat the coral, zoas, or shrimp, but he did take out and occasional hermit or snail. Never messed with the other fish either (neon gobies, flame hawk, purple tang and watchman goby/ pistol shrimp combo).

Sadly, when I had to relocate for work, I traded him back in to the LFS. I'm going to get another one, when the tinies come back around.

I have a 90 fowlr that I started putting some shrooms, zoes, and gsp in. It houses a porcupine puffer, humma humma trigger, and a coral beauty. It isn't a full reef, but has some corals, and so far (4 months) nothing has been bothered.

Just to let everyone know the corals I add to the fowlr are frags from my nano reef. So don't get upset.

Also, but not pictured, a Regal Angel, Flame Angel, Coral Beauty and Fiji puffer. The Blue face ate all my zoanthids, and occasionally picks at my carpet anemone, but no one else bothers anything.

Yes, I know that can change, and yes, I know the trigger may eventually go berzerk, but so far so good...

Awesome blue face angel!! No problems with the puffer? I am toying with the idea of getting one. I don't need to worry about him eating all my hermit crabs because my Coris Wrasse pictured below takes care of them.

The puffer...I guess its really a "sharpnose toby" or something like that, its not one of the big classic puffers...pretty much wiped out my population of nassarius snails. Which was unfortunate, those guys were pretty cool. However the worst I've see him do since is occasionally test the tip of an acro or monti. He never does more damage than disappears in a couple days, and he's only done that two or three times that I have noticed. So far at least he was well worth it, because he's rather unusual and interesting looking.

I'd avoid that lemonpeel angel. They're notorious for picking at corals, it's pretty much guaranteed. And they'll nip at LPS, SPS, sometimes softies, and clam mantles.

My puffers do not touch any corals, macro algae, snails or crabs. The Porcupine used to try to eat the crabs but in the last year or so, he has stopped. The crabs are out in the open all the time and he passes them by. The Narrow line has never looked at them as food I don't think. I work from home and am able to feed them 2-3 times a day, so that helps too.

There is always an exception ot every rule.

I added, sps, lps and soft corals to my qt tank with my lemonpeel and its been 2days with no problems.

2 days... That's not a very good gauge of behavior. Everything I've read thus far has made the point that lemonpeels are notorious pickers. Give it a couple months or so and we'll see how it behaves then.
