Ok after a bit of thinking I've decided I would like a aquarium controller. here is what im looking to have it do.

Light timers for 7 seperate lights
Pump timers for 10-12 pumps
Ph control for tank(and if possible a second for the calc reactor)
ORP control for ozone
Temp control for 4 different items.

So what controller(and what addons) could do this?

how many things can a ACjr control? Far as I can tell its 8 max(with the CD-8 thing)

It will control 12. Some items can be on the same timer though. I use the standard AC and have no problems running 2 tanks with it. I did add the px1000 (mostly for an additional pH probe for a future ca reactor although if you don't use ozone and need the orp probe, the AC3 will do 2 pH probes anyway), aquasurf, and lunar simulator though. Here is a comparison page:

Just hang in there until the Reef Keeper Elite is available in March. This thing will handle anything you canthink of and do some things you probably never thought of.

true but I really dont want to spend that kind of money this. Once what ive listed above gets over $400 its just not worth it to me. then its just easyer and cheaper to get a ph/orp controller along with a ranco and a bunch of timers.

You say that but one you get a controller you wonder how you lived without it. I have an RK2 on my Aquapod, and probably will bite the bullet for the RKE to control my 90 tech tank and a frag tank.

Well for what you have listed that you would like for a controler to do for you I seriously doubt you will find one for under $400.00. The RKE is $490.00 and will do all that and 10x's more. Im sure you can find one for under $300.00 but it wont have 7 light timers or control 10+ pumps.

RKE is $490 base, what about all the crap you have to add to it?

thats just to much money for me to justify right now...later maybe.

Untill they can control based on calc and alk readings I dont see it being worth it for a glorified timer with ph and temp control.

I can find an ac jr with the DC-8 and sensors for under $300 easy. Might just do that, and do the rest on timers.
