I just tested my calcium reactor effluent and came up with these numbers. Tests were done with Hach test kits.

Calcium 440
Alkalinity 19dkh
Magnesium 1237

This is down since the last time I took the readings back in Septemeber which read:

Calcium 600
Alkalinity 24
Magnesium 1237

I'm curious what your effluent should read or does this vary from system to system depending on the corals kept? I I do need to increase the calcium and alkalinity should I lower the ph through the co2 controller? I currently run my controler between 6.5 and 6.7.

As I understand it, optimal dKH of reactor effluent is 25-35dKH...even higher for people that use large media (I have no experince in this though). I run mine at about 25dKH, using small ARM at about 6.5 pH. (single chamber reactor).

So how do you think I can get my reactor to those levels?

Lower your PH in the chamber and/or slow down your effluent drip rate.

thnaks. What would you recommend for a ph range inside the chamber?
