At least I think so. I lost 2 skunk cleaners awhile back and I blamed
a big healthy royal gramma. So I took him out. The cleaners didn't
last long where the blood shrimp lasted 4 or 5 months. I really liked it.
Now I'm blaming the six line for this. The only other fish is a perc and
a newer wheeler watchman goby, which gets chased by the six line
when he comes out from under his rock. I had no idea these fish can
be this aggressive. I do have a pistol shrimp that never leaves his hole.
Can anyone confirm 99% that this is the fish (6line) killing
my shrimp. He was the first fish bought 2 yrs ago when I started the
tank. The guy at the LFS told me they are good for the tank because
they eat certain UNwanted things in the tank. And I've explained
to him (the fish) that I wanted the shrimp.
Thanks in advance.

I highly doubt the sixline is killing your shrimp. Shrimp could be dieing of their own accord. They can be quite sensitive, especially when they molt. I promise you the pistol leaves his hole at night to hunt. Although I have a pistol in with a peppermint shrimp without any issues, I would be much more likely to think the pistol did it than the 6-line.

Yea... I thought of that. But I've watched him close and he
has not gone to far. I'll keep better I on him.
Do you feed yours good? How much?

I drop my pistol large shrimp pellets a few times per week and he comes out to get them.

Good to know Lisa. I feed mine maybe once a week a small piece
of krill. I should feed him more often. I bought him thinking he would
pair up with a wheeler watchman I got after him. But by the time
I got the fish He ( the pistol shrimp) set up shop in a hole I have half
way up in a huge rock. The hole goes all the way thru to the other side
where an GBTA is. I like him there because I can feed him by hand.
I've read where there are anemone pistol shrimp. Do you anything
about this?
I just saw I lost my flame scallop. What's going on!??
I'll have to do some testing.
Thanks, cya!

Pistols are predators by nature. This is why they have "guns."

Here is a video of one eating a cleaner shrimp... which is exactly what you lost. Stop blaming that poor wrasse!

Well... what can I say. A picture (or in this case a video)
really is worth a thousand words. Thanks!

I really liked my blood shrimp. Is there any shrimp that I might have
better luck with in a 75 g tank? How about a coral banded? I know you said
you've had good luck with yu peppermint shrimp but, that's in a lot bigger
tank.......right?

No, the peppermint is in with the pistol/goby in a 24 gal cube. Try feeding your pistol more. Maybe someday mine will eat my peppermint as well. I think it ate some hermits already. To me the pistol goby pair is worth it.
