A 1, anything more will blow them all over.

I use 2 2's one at each end, I have plenty of flow.
rbursek Thats what I was thinking, but I read a post before that said since these were soo disperced they weren't big enough. Have you used them before? If so what in? I'm not saying your wrong or anything. In fact I think your right, but I just want to make sure. Thanks for the input, and any more you might have.
ctj is this in a 36 inch tank?
Anyone else?

You can never have enough flow as long as its not direct.
I would do two modded Tunze 6025. They push 1100gph each and they are smaller in size compared to the koralia and much better looking IMO.
Well I put a modded maxi with the small prop in and beat one of my nem to death and the flow wasn't right on it but enought to hurt it I guess. I really need to up my flow from the two maxi 1200 and a modded maxi is just too much. The thing with koralia is I heard you need the biggest pump in even a small tank because the flows soo dispersed it wont be too much, then I read they blow everything around, so I'm tring to find someone who uses these in a 36 inch long tank, the number pump, and how they like it. Thank you for the input though, I'm really wanting some direct feedback from someone who uses these, so I don't buy the wrong one and be stuck with a pump thats too much or too big.

i have a 30 long as well...
i have 2 koralia nanos and a koralia 1... nice amount of flow... i have some easy sps, lps, and softies...
Great! that sounds good. How strong is the number one? Do you think two number ones would do the trick? or maybe I should go higher. I want to keep it at either one koralia plus the MJ's I have, or two koralias, because I don't think the wife would like it if I spent 100.00 just on pumps.LOL

2 ones would be great in my opinion... i actually would like to switch out one of my nanos for a 1. i just went with the 1 and 2 nanos because they offer more options in a 30 long... i have a built in 5" square overflow on the back left corner, so getting good circulation required more, smaller powerheads... does that make sense??? im hoping that helps...
if you do have some extra mj's laying around those would be perfect to supplement the koralia 1's with... put a 1 on either end, and maybe a mj in the middle aimed high at the front glass...

A couple of 1s should do the trick.

I have a 36" tank and am running two #2's. In hind sight I would have used two #3's. Baring in mind I have a 50gallon tank and have two #2's, a Mag 9.5 return and a Mag 12 on a SCWD closed loop. Keeping SPS, LPS, Softies, Zoos. I have the #1 in my 29gal tank and its so weak its pretty much useless. Go for 2x #2's and see and then maybe add a #1 later. Or freeball it and do 2x #3's. You'll see about flow, its very soft for the amount of water it puts out.

if i didn't have a large frogspawn i would be able to go with #2s... even with a #1 ~30" away, it still blows it pretty hard... and i definitely wouldn't want it blowing around any harder...

I think the K1 in my 20H is not strong enough. I have it suppletmented by a mj900 and my hob filter.
I say get 2 #2's. That's what I'm going to do in my 36" 58g oceanic.

I would go with 2 K2s since you've got a 12" tank. I've got 2 K4's in my 4' long tank, 24" wide tank. I heard K1 were worthless too.
Ok thanks for the info everybody. I will try the k2's. I think I will order 1 k2 and if I like it I'll order another and if I don't then I will order a k3. Thanks for all the input and help.

I have 2 3's in my 46 bowfront I would probably add another but then again my tank is all sps. I think the flow is almost perfect but a little more would help

I think it depends on your setup. If you have lots of rock blocking flow in the tank then I would get the 2's. If its relatively open then the 2's will blow everything around. I think its definitely between the 2 and 1 though. The 3 will just blow everything over.
HAHA funny thing. I went to the swap meet today and won a koralia two!!! I couldn't belive it I was just going to buy this yesterday, but I wanted to see how much I spent at the swap meet. On the pump, I put it in my 29 first and I think it has just enough flow when it is at the top of the tank. I think when I lower it it will fit just fine, however I think it would be too weak on my 30 which is 6 inches longer. So maybe a #3 on that tank.

I put a #1 in my 46 bow and could barely feel the current w/my hand right in front of it-it was weak. Sent it back and ordered two #3's. We'll see how that goes. Unless you have a small tank 20g. or less use the #3's. More current is better than lack there of.
Well I put it down mid way and it does work alot better, but a 3 I think would be nice also. IMHO I like this but will try a 3 also. Maybe just run a 2 and 3 depending on how strong the 3 is.
