Wave makers are for looks only and do nothing for water flow and quality. You could add for more realistic look but dont use for water movement.

Now I just read all about them and they say they are great for flow hit all the dead spots and allows you to use less powerheads

why would you say no good if the top moves like a wave it sends water down also I was realy thinking of buying one and was going to ask if anyone had one?

They are pretty good. I have one on my return, does what it is supposed to do.

wavy sea is cool because it's just like the sea swirls but with way more features. Sea swirls are a plug and play system. the wavy sea has a controller, you can tell it where to stop, where to go back, to spin 180, or 360 and back or just 360 over and over, and you can control how fast you want it to move with 3 modes.
