View Full Version : easiest lps to keep?

hi i am planning on adding lps in about a month what would be a piece of lps that will let me know if i can keep other lps? in other words a beginner lps...what do i need to keep lps?

I'd reccomend torch's and frogspawns, and maybe hammer corals. I've seen them in a tank that was putrid, but the polyps still expanded.

Candycanes are nearly foolproof also.

Yep candy canes are pretty easy. Frogspawns too.

plate coral are good and easy also brain corals

Make sure you have good lighting for the brain corals.

I'm thinking about a frog spawn for sure, but what other LPS would you guys suggest? I love the tentacle thing.

i think duncans are one of the easiest LPS's i have ever kept. they are extremely hard to kill and can be placed about anywere in the tank with some acclimation time.

I agree completely with ^^^, they are VERY easy to care for, and with feedings not even once a week they will grow tremendously.

But others like the brain coral, frogspawn are good too.

duncans also, those guys are easy to feed and grow. fungias can eat several times a day and fast.

+1 on frogspawn, get the branching one. that was my main piece (check avatar) i like how it moves with the flow.

Dendros are expensive but very easy to keep. They don't even need light. Just feed them something big and meaty (aka krill) a couple times a week and they are good. They are big and beautiful.
