Well I finally broke down and bought a new skimmer. It was either that or sell everything because of the algae breakout. After looking around and not wanting to spend a small fortune, I went with a Fission recirculating skimmer. I posted a thread back a while ago on how good this one was and no one responded. New these skimmers go for about $220-240 dollars. However ebay was selling Fixed damaged in transport unit for way cheaper directly from the company. I would have got this one for $99 but was slightly outbid so I got it for $112 plus shipping, which I didnt think was that bad. I figured for the price if it didn't work that well I wasn't out a bunch of money. So its been up and running for about 2 weeks now and is pulling really good skim and my tank looks great. It actually started pulling decent skim in the begining but now that its broken in its really amazing. The water level is run in the black area when the pictures were taken.

The only down side to this skimmer is the amount of room it takes up. It says in sump only. Right now i run it outside the sump and seems to be working pretty good.
