If i wanted my colors to pop, what 400w 20k would be better XM or Radium?

DArn just saw it was 400W. I have run both on 250W and it is Radium by far.

Better everything in my opinion. Par, looks

The XM has the higher actinic spike between the two on Sanjays charts... So it should give the most color pop.

It really depends on what ballast your using to see which has the most par.

I did get a little more color pop with the XM bulbs. The Radium is a better bulb, will last longer and still gives you the pop your looking for, with more PAR!!!

Thanks for the input. I am running an Electronic Ballast (galaxy), if that makes a difference.

On a Galaxy go with the Radium. That or the Aquaconnect 14K

What ballasts do you have? They are different types of bulb. XM are a probe start and Radiums are a pulse start. Requiring different ballasts.

AzMandella, I said Im running an Electronic Galaxy ballast by sunlight supply which will fire both of these bulbs. Right now i am running a 400w radium, but i was about to replace my bulb and thought i might try the XM if it would make the colors of the coral pop more than the radium.

I have a galaxy 400w with XM 20k....I am just waiting for this one to get old...

The PPFD on the radium vs xm is not even funny...get the radium.

Hey, any of you guys have experience with the Ushio 20k vs Radium? 400w.

I'm using the Ushio 20k right now and happen to like it a lot.

I'm running Helios 20k on 400w galaxy ballasts. I like them better then radiums and the growth is decent for a 20k bulb.

I've run both on a 400w Galaxy & they're pretty similar. The Radium is brighter & more blue I guess you could say. I lost some reds switching from the XM to Radium, but purples/blues improved. Both good bulbs.

Gonna try the Helios next ;)
