36 outer orbit atnics plus metal halide all in one.

Here is my dad helping me unpack her. Current USA does an AWESOME job at safely packing these things!

Nice lights how many watts, I don't want to sound like a buzz kill but the lights look a little big for that setup. Although I do like the way the lights are setup.

:) it is too big for that setup honey....

I guess we need to buy a new tank!

:)

2x 96w + 1x 150 watt

Anyone have any suggestions for how to run my timers with atinics/MH/lunar?

I like to start my tank later in the day so around 10pm I can still see everything. etc

I have it set to 12" above tank right now to try to get everything to acclimate to the change, How should I acclimate them to MH?

That's a great set-up. Eventually, I might go for something like that.

How/What did you secure the shelf with to the studs/wall behind it? How much does the light housing weight?

Awesome design!

Great question!

The designers at ikea... not the smartest.

The shelf is 47 inchs wide. the holes for screws are 46.5 apart.
USA standards has studs placed 16" apart thus 48" wide.

so I used the stud on the Right side, four screws.
on the left I used EZ anchors 100lb anchors on two screw holes.

the light is 24lbs and the shelf maybe 10lb.

Set up looks great. Definately need to upgrade the tank to fit the lights. I like the way you operate.

Awesome! Thanks. Knowing that you're using the EZ anchors makes me feel a bit better about having that light above the tank. Honestly, great design, and I'm sure I'll be posting photos of my own version at some point in the near future. :)

Can i ask why you bought a 48inch unit for a 20inch tank. Are you planning on upgrading.

Also you might want to consider lowering that, looks like its 18inch above the water.

Seems to light up the room good :)

ok, my brain hurts....

I need to replace the bulbs but I cannot figure out which to order for my outer orbit 36"!

I know my MH is a DE 150w and ill go for the phoenix 14k, but what about the atinics?

which should i replace first?

looks nice, but thats a lot of light spilling over. why such a large fixture for such a small tank? admit it, you're already planning for a 48" long tank!

The shelf looks like a great idea! Wish I would've thought of that :)
Stand is looking great too. Looks like an upgrade is in your future.

Now can I go? :(
