Hi im looking to get a new chiller for my tank and the reason to change the one that i have right now is the electric bill my chiller uses 600 watts and i came across this chiller (http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=40_43_223&products_id=1146) i have a 72 gallon tank with 175 watt mh bulbs the canopy is hanged by the ceiling leaving an open top tank with a fan running across the surface of the water i have no problem with temp since inside my house rarely hits the 89 degrees(my tank is set at 78-79 degrees)i live in the caribbean and with the increase in energy bills i have to look for a way to reduce my bill and saw the teco sea chill chiller that can handle a 120 gal tank and uses only 200 watts of electricity thats very good if any of you have heard anything about the chiller please let me know as im really thinking of getting the teco.

Thanks all
Nestor

put in an ac and have your whole entire family benefit from instead of just your tank. your whole family would really apperciate it.

Thanks for the reply it's in my plans for the future to put an ac unit but since where i have the tank is pretty big the ac unit costs me $3000 installed so it's more cost effective for now to get a chiller than to install the ac.

Anyone knows about the chiller?

I don't have any first hand knowledge of them but I was looking at them also and did a little research. The company has been in the refrigeration buis for some 40+ yrs and been making aquarium chillers since the early 80's. They have a titanium heat exchanger like the the other top brands. And they are supposedly Europes #1 chiller.
