Just got a new Oceanic tank, reef ready, came with the overflow/return kit.

Is this thing quiet? What kind of flow can run through it? I am planning around 600gph.

Opinions?

I think its a piece of crap because of the 3 holes drilled at the bottom of the elbow. For me it was pretty noisy, so I just built a durso standpipe and got rid of the megaflow kit.

So do you think it would have worked better without the 3 holes on the elbow piece?

I'm looking at getting the same tank. Would you mind PM'ing me and tell me where you got it and how much? The reason I ask is I'm local to your area. Thanks!

Mine works fine and is silent. 600 gph is about the max you want to send through it though.

Gonna use my mag7, I may get a 1260 if it's too noisy, should work out OK.

yes, I don't understand what they are there for because they aren't needed.

I have two of them on my Tech 120. They are silent.
