I am putting a new sump in place, and need to figure out a good way to hold the filter socks in place for the drain. I figure a lot of you have come up with ingenious ways to mount them without buying a $30 sock 'holder' :)
thanks

I used two pieces of acrylic rod and a sock I made. I got the idea from <a href="http://randystacye.com/diy_filter_sock.htm"target="_blank">RandyStacyE’s</a> website. He has some other ideas too for a sock hanger.

I use this holder that I purchase from Marine Depot.

I just use a thick screw with a loop in the end (don't know what they're called). I drilled it into my stand and just tie the draw string from the bag to it. The bag goes around the drain and kinda floats there.
Works great and was very cost-effective.
