What makes a tank "un-skimmable"?

I have a 55 gal reef that was doing fine, then yesterday I added about 10 new corals and the skimmer has completely stopped producing anything! Today I cleaned the skimmer thorougly and even added another hang-on skimmer, and still nothing, from either of them! The water is certainly not clear, and I know it needs to be cleaned, hence the skimmers.

What can I do?

Certain types of oils and such will cause bubble popping. Feeding often causes this, and especially liquid oils like Selcon. Maybe one or more of the the corals are just releasing substances into the water that have that effect.

Hopefully it will be back to normal in a day or two.

thank you sir, would you rec. a med/lg water change then to dilute the potential future problem with my water?

I'd just wait and see what happens in a couple of days. :)

sometimes my skimmer stops making foam when I have my hands in the tank alot. this could be whats going on with you.

well I didn't have my hands in the tank at all, I used long-handled grippers to place all the new corals, ... but thanks, I do understand that

If you used any kind of glue or epoxy to mount the new corals that could be messing with skimmer production...

... nope, just set them in the tank on the rocks, ...

Just wait it out, skimmers are fussy. In time it will start to work correctly.

but both of them, out of it in concurrence? Is this a plot?
