Hello - i was wondering if anyone had any experience in using Arogocrete Rocks or any other man-made rocks in a set up. I'm just setting up a 75G salt fish only tank - and want to try and find an inexpensive alternative to live rock. Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated!
Thanks!

hey, its a waste of time. I tried it once a long time ago. Used crushed coral in the mix with portland mix. I never got anything good from it.
i once got 100 pounds all live rock for 80 from a guy on these forums. that was a steal. but good deals like that do come and its much more better than the time and money u spend making ur own anyway. the time for curing is a few weeks to months so its a pain.

Look up Marco Rocks. I've never used it but have seen pictures and heard raving reports from several people. If/when I upgrade to something bigger than my 95 I'm definately going to try it out. As far as landscaping, I'm taken back by how diverse this rock looks!

I'll second the Marco Rocks. I set up a 180 using mostly marco rocks and a few pieces of live rock from my other tank and couldn't be happier. Took me less than two weeks to cure it in a vat of saltwater with a heater, power head and skimmer.

Marco rocks are great and you get alot of rock per pound. I looked into making the rock too and for the money and time to do it marco is definately the way to go. He wass a little backed up not sure if he has caught up yet so it may take a little time to get them.

honestly just buy the live rock. its worth every penny and looks alot more natural.
this looked really nice if you don't mind the drive.
