Ok im down to my last options,i just recieved my tds meter today and ive been all over the place testing water,well the lowest one i got was from the supermarket at 13 ppm the place i have been getting my water from is the local fish store and they say it is great water but it reads 296 ppm,anyway i have a brown green and red algae problem if i just get my own ro/di from the filter guys do you think the problem will clear up its my last option,and dam my local fish store is full of bull

salinity1.026,ph 8.1,nitrite0,nitrate2ppm,alk179ppm,calcium440ppm

Damn LFS. My tap water is less then 296 ppm. My LFS really sucks. I wished i had a better one in my area. I have only one to choose from unless i want a 60 mile drive.

What is your Phosphate level? That is a food for Algae.

never tested phosphate but i am running phoszorb in my canister so it shouldnt be too high if any at all

296ppm :eek2: ? My tap water runs about 100-120ppm. Right now its 103ppm. Wow.

Sorry to reply again, but yes. I think if you get your own RO/DI unit you will not be sorry. It will only be help and it pay for itself in some time.

woohoo i ordered a ro/di from the filter guys and im happy,havent got it yet but im fighting algae and hope this will help,plus NO more trips with jugs to the fish store
