I have a 55 gal that has been running about a year now and this is my problem I was gone and my son noticed that I had ick he took out the 2 clowns put in qt and then he added something called metronidazole to my tank (I have used it only in qt not in dt) but he did and now my ammonia is high was 2.0-( ph8.2- nitr-0-nitrates0.5-)ammonia about 1.5,did 2-10 gal water changes and got it there and added ammo-lock ,question is how much water should I change at one time I know ammonia is bad for fish that is why I'm asking (before the metronidazoleno ammonia )

I usually do 50% every other day while in Qt.
I had an ammonia spike like yours, and did a 90% without any problems. Try to keep it below .5, and use some prime, or your ammonia lock.

There is nothing to worry about.
Just make sure to get the salinity and temp pretty close.
I would change as much water as you can. As long as the fish are still able to swim.
