LOL, Chris!

"I'm Tbone, and I'm a Nog-a-Holic!"

The SM300 is not for me! Way too much skimmer. I'm asking for someone else who has a 400g tank and is interested in the SM300.

Looks to be a few months away though! That new pump sounds so juicy!

Jason (one of the owners) was just in Germany a few weeks back & he showed me some pictures of the RDII & how Klaus has his own testing station for them was quiet amazing.
From what I have been told ,they should be available here in US after Interzoo @ a more reasonable price than the European version.
Also if you look around BKs are cheaper here than Germany.LoL

on a other forum klaus told me that it would be released in march. I think it has a delay because they want to show it for the first time with te new pump.
Now i have to wait longer.

@ klaus

I think the new pump is going to be an expensive upgrade. Are the prices known already?
Why cant we buy the 300 sm with the normal pump in march? I really don't want to wait any longer. My old skimmer is falling apart.

I believe you can buy the 300 Sm with a regular red dragon. :)
From what i understand the red dragon DC is an option to upgrade for a extra on the SM 300.

I think he means that they are ready in march, but they will be waiting on a shelf untill the introduction at interzoo. That includes the 300sm with the normal pump.
But i hope your right because i'm not going to wait untill than.

Klaus,

I have always admired and wanted to try one of your skimmers but I have also always wondered, why dont you make any taller models?

3000-4000 L/H of air in a 300mm x 60cm skimmer seems like a LOT of air, is there any room left for water? :)

This sounds like a fantastic skimmer and it just seems to me that with this much air possible at 60cm of height, why wont it work at say, 90-100cm height?

I like tall skimmers. :)

I might be able to answer that for you.
Klaus ,made the BK design with the bubble plate defuser , wider body & strong pump to make a skimmer that is most efficient as this concept of foam fractioning could be given any design tall or short, simply because not everyone has a fish room to house a Skimmer any taller than 3' & most people house them under the tank in the Cabinet.
Specialy in Europe everything is smaller .
They have been around for a long time but back in the day they were so tall they were not an obtion for hobby only commercial.

Chris
