Hey guys,

The only information I have so far for the tubing size for the Profilux Dosing pump is from Michael of aquadigital. He said they are 4mm O.D. tubes.

So far the smallest tubing I can find online is 5/16" O.D. (7.9375mm) and that is from DIYReef.com

Anybody know where to find smaller tubing?

Thanks!!
Ryan

You can use any standard air tubing.... not sure what syze it is but your LFS should have tones of it :c)

that company has some tubing that is 2.4 ID and 1.6wall thickness, so maybe that is the correct one?

Which materials are best for aquarium use?

To me looks like maybe pumpsil, chem-sure or sta-pure but I wonder is it overkill? I might decide to dose magnesium chloride. Is there anything that we as aquariasts might want to dose that would be corrosive to normal marprene bioprene tubing?

gah just realized that 2.4 ID and 1.6 wall is actually 5.6mm since the wall is counted twice for diameter

Just use the PVC type, on the pump it has to be different because of the friction that is applied to the tubing as the motor rotates the rollers. The rest of the tubing is just carrying the fluid.

heh I guess I assumed that the tube needed to be the same diameter for it to work right.

I mean that we will release to the supply chain the same tubing that comes with the dosing pumps so you have the matching tubing for your pumps

ah sweet!!! ok I will wait for that then. I'm pretty picky so I'd like to use the same white tubing. all my stand and space is painted white so the white tubes will blend in better. anything to hide the insanity more :D

any idea when this might happen?

Plain old airline tubing will work. Refrigeration tubing, which is somewhat firmer will work.

This stuff is available everywhere.
