Can we actually say that if clams can survive in your tank so can SPS ?

No not really. I have clams but the flower pot and acropora that I had needed more light to survive.

Wow. I've been keeping both for over a year now in a 140 gallon i've only lost one clam in my time in the hobby due to a loose temp probe that irritated it to death while I was away for a 3 day weekend...
But by survive in captivity well they obviously would be better off in the maldives. But we are doing are best:)

what would their differences be ? From what I know they both need good water condition, SPS probably need more flow than clams depending on the type, and acros probably needs more lights than even crocea clams.

Clams do better with higher nitrates and SPS do best without ever seeing nitrate. I would say the lighting you use on the clam would work on the SPS. Also clams may tolerate flow as SPS like good constant flow.
