everyother day, i feed my dendrophyllia a several mysis shrimp (somewhere from 5-10.) yesterday, i tried to feed it, and it did not 'hold on' to the mysis. it would try to hang on, but then the food would float away by the current. i'm running a 24g NC with a maxijet 1200 (running all the time) and a maxijet 900 (runs every 15on, 15off). it's sitting on the sand, somewhere close to the 1200. i've never seen this happen before, since for the last 3 weeks that i've had him, he would take the food with ease. it's a small frag of one so i can't tell if it's the tank or just that one polyp. maybe the current is too high? it does seem to be 'waving' in one direction, but it is not being blown away. any ideas?

try cutting the pumps before feeding. I stop all flow in my tank for 30 mins while i feed my LPS and it seems to work just fine. Remember most LPS aren't made to catch large prey (like an anemone) they are made to catch smaller particles/organisms which are difficult to supply on a regular basis. Good luck!!

My dendros do the same thing. It will eat for 2 days and then not accept any food for a day or two, I think thats normal.
