eggs!

i went to feed my mantis this morning only to see that he... oops... she was 'managing' an egg mass :)

it's kind of a pale green color which is different from the other egg mass i saw, which was kind of pinkish in color. if i remember to bring my camera with me to work tomorrow i'll try to get pics.

In some species, the egg color seems fixed. For example, the eggs of Odontodacylus scyllarus are always pink as they are for most Lysiosquillina. However, the eggs of Neogonodactylus bredini can vary from orange to yellow to green, probably at least in part determined by diet.
