What is the best way to get rid of a hunting crab? Ive lost a small clown and a small blue flasher and a small hutchii anthias to what im assuming is a crab.Ive seen a large (2.0-2.5 inches) unknown crab in tank once but could not catch it now im having fish dissapear . The hutchii was just introduced last week it did not look good but I gave it a try im sure it died on its own, I saw ths carcass on Monday I tryed to remove it but could not pull it out from under rock before something else pulled it away. The clown and the blue flasher have been around for a while .The blue flasher dissapeared on thurs night, the clown last night they both were out and eating when last seen. I initaly thought it was a water problem but checked the water and its fine .Its a large tank 300gal with lots of live rock I assumed that if the bodies were still in tank i would get ammonia spike but nothing, if crab is the culprit how do I eleminate ? I know of one sally lightfoot and 5 emerald crabs along with tons of small hermit crabs in the tank. I thought about buying harliqun tusk but I still have several small fish, would crosshatch triggers work? (looking for pair anyway) or are there crab traps that will work.

Put a tall and smotth glass (like a beer pint glass) in the aquarium and put some food bait in the bottom. The crab should be able to crawl in (due to the rockwork), but not out. Adding a fish to eat one crab seems a bit excessive to me.
