That within like the last half year, ive been seeing less and less clams for sale anywhere, whether at LFS or online.
About a year ago i would walk into a LFS and see a normal of like 3-4 crocea, 2-3 maxima, 1-2 squamosa, and 1-2 derasa.
Now im lucky if i go in and they even have a Crocea or Maxima.
Anyone else notice this or have any ideas why?

Some of the tridacnids have recently been added to the threatend species lists. Alot of the clams we now see are aquacultured.
Also clam keeping as a hobby has skyrocketed so supply is having troubles keeping up with demand.

Yeah. The only clams that can be found around here are croceas and maybe maximas. You may run into a deresa every now and then.
