Rundown:

-75 Gallon long drilled.
-Sump w/ heater, skimmer(coralife 125) and return pump. (pump is mag 850 gph)
-Lighting = (2) Sundial 150w metal halide pendants with atts and moonlights
-Powerheads= 2 large Koralia's
-RO/DI unit.

This is my first sump set up. I do have some noob questions.

1.) The heater is in the sump but how does that keep the water at desired temp when it's moving at 850 gph??? Am I missing something?

2.) This is probably a dumb question because I think I know the answer but please confirm it for me. Say the pump fails, the water continues to flow into the sump. Now the way the plumbing works, the water that flows into the sump is caught by the PVC piping behind the overflow cover. It should not overflow because once the water gets low enough in the tank the PVC pipe will no longer be flowing water into the sump because the water is too low, right?? Please tell me I'm right and if I'm not, what to do.

FYI... I will be adding a DIY refugium in the coming weeks. Gravity. I have just enough room to add it. I will also be adding a glass canopy before the transfer from the 44 so I don't mess up my lights!

I will post pics when it's completed to show everyone how I did it.

Thanks RC members!

You're the best!

If there's anything you'd like to add please do. I'm open to all suggestions.
