I upgraded to a 120 recently and I need some info for the set up...The tank has dual overflows built in. I will not be setting up a reef tank yet and all I'm planning to do is put bunch of liverock in there (100 pounds or so). I will probably start off with some tangs, clown, angels, box, etc, nothing too hardy to take care of and some crabs 6 or so (hermit, holloween, emerald, etc). I do not have any pumps, skimmers, lights only the plumbing to go with it. Since I'm new to this size what will I need to set up my tank? Do I need a skimmer? What sump pump (brand and model preferably? What lights ( I like the night blue lights to be included)? Any information that will help me get started will be apprieciated......bang for the buck.....
Thanks

A skimmer is a good safety net, so I'd get one. The lighting depends a lot on the exact corals you intended to keep. Fish don't much care about lighting. The sticky note at the top of the forum has points to a lot of useful threads.

Im newbie here but I just made my list of things to go out and get next week. Marinedepot.com has a 36 inch Current USA SunDial T5 HO 4x39W w/ Timers & LED THis can be upgraded to 48 or maybe bigger. It has fans to cool it down and comes with all 4 bulbs and LED lights for moonlight It is programmed to simulate dawn to dusk or you can program it yourself.
The sump pump if you are talking about the return pump depends on how high you are pushing the water back to your tank from the sump. A skimmer will make EVERYTHING better. AS for type or models its all personal preference on here, its mostly up to you. MY recommendation at least what i am doing is go a little overboard with your equipment. that way you can upgrade to a bigger tank in the future without having to buy all new stuff.
