Ok, I have been runnign a 20gal high tank now for about two years. I am planning on moving it to my 55gal.

The 55 is a FW, and it has a stand/canopy bult for it (by me years ago) The stand is oak ply (3/4) and was bult like a tank.

My problem is the way it is constructed, I only have about a 23in x 12in sapace to fit a sump. There are two of these spaces, but a center brace maked it so I cannot have one thing longer than 23in.

Is is plausable to build a setup such that I have two seperate sumps that connect.

Say on the left, is the intake, where the water comes in, and also a section for the skimmer. And then on the left, a fuge and a return zone???

How would I effectively connect these two sides to one another?

Any help would be appreciated. It appears that a 15gal tank will fit in the area nicely, if I go prefab on the tank. So I could have one on each side of the brace... But again, how would I connect them?
