It seems like the A.G.E tanks are picking up in popularity. Let's see how many A.G.E owners are out there! Please share a pic (or 2, or 3) of your tank and your experience with it

Tank Dimensions
Rimless/Eurobraced
Starphire/Plate
Experiences

I'll start :)

Tank Dimensions - 6x2x2 (wish I would've gone deeper!)
Rimless/Eurobraced - 3/4" one-piece acrylic Eurobrace, 1" PVC bottom
Starphire/Plate - starphire

Thanks for the heads-up to this thread tbone! Here's mine.

Tank Dimensions - 60 x 30 x 26

And here's an old photo of my office tank. I really need an updated shot. It looks so much better now that it's filled with corals and fish. To credit the photographer this photo is owned my Melev.

Tank Dimensions - 96 x 36 x 30
Rimless/Eurobraced - Eurobraced
Starphire/Plate - Plate
Experiences - Just over 1 year and loving it, but wish I went Starphire

Thanks for sharing Dudester. Is your new tank going to be A.G.E?

Edward, you're a lifetime member! As usual, great shot! I like how you ran the Tunze powercord down the seam!

Seems like a shame to have all the miriad of options that having a PVC bottom allows, and seeing things like overflow boxes and Tunze wave boxes and Tunze powerheads in the display.

Man If I wasn't happy with the flow, I'd order more holes cut in the bottom and add an additional Sequence Dart or bigger pump to take up the slack!

The whole idea of going with a PVC bottom, to me and spending the extra dough, is to get away from cords draped over the sides, and Powerheads visable in the tank.

Please don't take this post as a criticism, just an observation. Why I make this observation, is that like many, I'm planning the "dream tank" and that doesn't include any visable flow apparatus. I'm planning to go completely closed loop.

I'm just curious, if you gentlemen planned to add the tunze etc. or if you just found the design lacking after you got the whole thing set up, and needed more flow, so you supplemented with the wave boxes or the PH.

I hope that's the spirit of this thread. I don't want to derail it at all.

Aaron

I guess Lucky for us we live in a county where each were allowed to have our own dreams realized. :)

My dream tank included a couple Tunze powerheads for pulsing random flow and a wave box to give the fish, corals and detritus some side to side movement.
You know, like in the ocean. :)

If you find a way in your dreams to achieve a wave with holes in a PVC bottom and a sequence pump, please do share. :)

My design actually included Tunze products before it included a closed loop.

Dogstar, The PVC bottom provides other benefits beyond the ability to drill countless holes for a closed loop. I ordered an A.G.E tank with no intention of a closed loop. My intention was to go Tunzes from the beginning. Why no closed loop for me? My goal is to keep the tank as simple as possible in regards to husbandry. Also, the closed loop means more potential for leaks, and the power utililzed for a closed loop pump is a lot higher than running Tunzes. If the Tunzes are too big for the liking, there are always Vortechs :)

Personally, I don't think you can compare the quality of flow from Tunzes to that from a closed loop. Just ask Edward...

So why PVC? In case my rock tumbles over, I don't have to worry about cracking a glass bottom.

The other benefit of an A.G.E tank is the 3/4" one-piece acrylic Eurobrace. The fact that it's one piece makes it a lot stronger than a 4-piece glass eurobrace which is siliconed together. I have seen those seems split.
