Pinpoint Salinity Monitor Question

I have a Pinpoint salinity monitor I decided to sell. The probe's not changable like the PH monitor's is. It has some choraline built up from being submersed in the sump with constant light.

Can I safely soak it in vinigar to clean it up?

PLMK if anyone's done this.
