Hello,
I am just finishing up a canopy for my 20g reef-to-be, and would like to start on one for my 36g corner bowfront; however, it is not as intuitive as a rectangular tank.
I am also having trouble finding good pictures of corner bowfront canopies to get ideas from.
I found these, but this looks to be extremely high-quality woodwork, and I don't have the means to bend a big beautiful piece of wood like this for the front:

Something like this looks more doable:

But again, arched wood. Not sure how I'd go about doing that.
What I had originally imagined for the bowed front was a sort of a wooden "V" frame, and then cover it with a bendable veneer to create the bow. But I'm still not sure how I'd do the top surface...

Any suggestions?
Any help whatsoever would be appreciated,
Thanks!

The cad drawing isn't too clear but it's basically the v you were talking about with a curved frame on the front. I skined it in 3/4 maple plywood that I kerf cut to make it pliable. The 3/4 ply could have easily been replaced with 1/4 and I wouldn't have had to kerf it. I haven't done the hood yet but will use the same techniques when I do.
