i have put 1 nori strip in to feed my juvi. atlantic tang.is this the only food it needs.i have live rock it picks at also .right now he doesnt go after the other food i offer the other fish.flakes/mysis/brine shrimp with spirolina

I am not sure. It should be a staple, but my tangs eat anything I feed them.

How long ago did you add the tang? My blonde naso wouldnt eat anything except nip at Nori for about the 1st four days i had him.

Nori should be the staple but not the only food he eats. Keep trying different things and maybe try soaking it in garlic to get it eating.

thanks for the input .he has been in the tank for 1 week.he still hides alot. he probably will come out and eat more soon.i hope

My yellow tang eats clams on the half shell. They are supposed to be herbivores. My eel eats flake. I think a good key to feeding fish is to vary it up. Very rarely do mine get the same thing 2 days in a row, but I do usually feed nori at least 4 times a week along with cubes, flake, mysis, etc.

You do need to vary foods. Even if it does not accept any other food, then you can still at least vary kinds of seaweed, and macroalgae, and brands.
