Heres what I've done. I have a AGA 65 RR tank, and the store bought durso stand pipe. I reduced the output to 3/4 and put a gate valve on it to slow down the return and fill up the stand pipe. This reduced the noise to nothing. What I was wondering is should the return pipe be bigger, such as 1" or 1 1/4". Does anyone know if enlarging the return pipe with a ball valve make any difference if the overall flow etc?
