How many of you are using these? Is it worth the extra investment? Do you get closer shots with your macro lens.

You mean KENKO. And from what I have read and seen in pictures, they are good.

Tubes are just spacers. They decrease the lens' working distance giving you higher magnification. They don't actually contain any optics so brand doesn't matter. I have a set of kenko tubes in my bag. They work just fine.

As a friend of mine puts it, "these use the same exact high-quality, ultra-low dispertion air as the Canon model does and costs a fraction of the price!" :D

Ive been wanting to experiment with some macro work without investing in a macro lens just yet and I just got a set on adorama.com the brand name is proOptic if you want to save even more of the cost of that high quality air. Ive never tried other brands to compare build quality. There probably not the best but they seem to get the job done though.
