I have 2 overflows and would like to know if I should run both to the skimmer side of my sump or 1 to skimmer side and 1 to fuge side...?

thanks!

Both do the same, same concept.

Add a gate valve to both so you can control your flow.

a gate valve, not a ball valve?

I think the gate valve is more for flow control where as a ball valve is better for on or off situations.
I do think either will work.

Both to skimmer side. A drain directly to the fuge deposits too much detritus. The fuge becomes a mess. You are better off filtering it first, then sending it to the fuge.

what if there's a prefilter in the overflow boxes?
still too much debris?

reeferguy32's post says he's running a FOWLR 125g. I dont consider a skimmer to be a filter in this situation.
Where your mechanical filtration is, is a good question. Filter sock?

Filter sock on the drains would be a good way to go, followed by the skimmer, then to the fuge.

I am setting up a 125g w/2 corner overflows, both have prefilters.
then they will drain into my sump/fuge. I will have a skimmer, fuge, and return section...will I still need filter sock with overflow prefilters?

gotcha, thanks!
